Functionality added to this release
This release contains enhancements from
the previous release of the Westtek File Viewers (Build
1428). The primary purpose of this update is to bring the level of support up
to the level released for Windows Embedded Compact 2013 (Build 1436 – April 16,
2013). Most enhancements in this build
are related to PDF Viewer functionality.
Enhancements:
Functionality added to this release
While this is the first
release of JETCET PDF for Windows Embedded Compact 2013, this release does
contain enhancements from the previous releases of JETCET PDF on Windows
Embedded Compact.
Enhancements made to the
PDF Viewer:
· General performance enhancements
· The imaging model has been
modified to allow the PDF Viewer to load a larger variety of images, with
higher color depths, using less memory and with reduced processing time.
· The most common types of embedded
JBIG2 images.
· Line join features are now supported.
· Image rotation is now supported.
· Support for images with 16 bit per pixel and 2 bit per pixel
components have been added to this release.
· Limited annotations are supported.
General Limitations
There is no support for files created
in versions of Microsoft Office earlier than Office 97; there is no support for
the Microsoft Visual Basic® macro programming language. Password protected
Microsoft Office documents are not supported and will not open.
Object linking and embedding (OLE) is
not supported on Windows Embedded Compact. Objects pasted into Microsoft Office
2003 or 2007 formatted file will be displayed as a static image.
If sufficient memory for temporary file
storage is not available on a Windows Embedded Compact–based device, very large
documents or documents that contain large graphical elements may not open, or
may not display all of the content.
Font

Windows Embedded Compact does not
provide the same set of fonts that is available on Windows-based desktop
operating systems or in recent versions of Microsoft Office. If the original
font used in a document is not available, the file viewers show the closest
possible approximation of the original format.
The following list shows fonts that you
should include in your OS design for optimal performance with the File Viewers:
- Arial
- Arial Bold
- Arial Bold Italic
- Arial Italic
- Courier New
- Courier New Bold
- Courier New Bold Italic
- Courier Italic
- Symbol
- Times New Roman

combinations of these fonts for the Microsoft PowerPoint® viewer:
